Oversees and directs the daily work in support of the Production Supervisor
Champions and upholds department standards as a role model for other employees
Ensures product is being produced to required quality specifications, SQF and other food safety standards and taken action and/or follow-up when deficiencies are noted.
Must be able to Mix on both cake and dough lines
Must be able to learn all set ups including
Oven Set ups
Cake Line and Dough Line set ups
Maintain product quality and production rates * Ensure all mixing processes are followed.
Ensures all equipment is operating properly, verify that GMP’s and Safety standards, takes appropriate actions to correct any issues
Ensure that the work area is clean and organized.
Sets the example for peers and employees to follow with respect to adhering to policy and procedure, supporting company policy/procedures, and discussing proactive measures with employees, so they remain upbeat, happy, and well-adjusted in the department.
Perform other responsibilities as required
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to direct the work of others while maintaining composure in a fast-paced environment
3 to 5 years experience in a similar role, Food industry (Pastry & Baking)
Excellent communication skills, able to speak and read English
Able to perform all tasks within the department including lifting
Able to lift-up to 20 kgs
Able to work weekends as required
Punctual, reliable and responsible
Can work well in a team environment and support fellow team members
Forklift License or willing to obtain certification
First Aid trained or willing to obtain certification
