Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities

Preventative and Building Maintenance

· Lead the maintenance team to ensure equipment and facilities are consistently checked to determine potential problems and necessary maintenance

· Monitor the inventory of materials and supplies – coordinate with proper party to ensure staff are always well stocked

· Contribute to maintenance budget and adhere to restrictions

· Inspect quality of work from technicians and ensure team is supported

· Work closely with production, sanitation, and quality assurance for the monitoring of production schedule and maintenance fixes.

· Troubleshoot and apply preventative maintenance in variety of fields (hydraulics, ventilation, electrical as examples).

· Perform daily engineering preventative tasks for conveyer belts, labelers, dispensers, industrial mixers, scales, ovens and refrigeration, office equipment, and others as required

· Monitor maintenance daily tasks and ensuring all preventative and building maintenance projects are completed in efficient manner

· Sourcing new and quick ways to fix machinery

· Monitor maintenance log and additional job specific training and safety measures to ensure compliance

· Variable shifts (morning, afternoon and evening with potential weekend work may be required).

· Additional duties as assigned


Leadership and Teamwork

· Accountable for taking all necessary measures, including proper disciplinary action, to ensure that all personnel work with protective devices and according to safety measures and procedures required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the policies outlined by Del’s Pastry.

· Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies

· Coaching/developing new and legacy technicians for best practices

· Communicates and coordinates with production team to maintain machines and equipment indicators

· Responsible for ensuring department adheres to all safe operating procedures as well as hiring and training outlines for all technicians within the respective department

· Review department budgets, key performance metrics (including employee performance management), review and establish protocols for maximum efficiency of staff

· Coordinate with old and new contractors/vendors for installations, repairs, or maintenance activities (electricians, plumbers, and others as required)

· Monitor the inventory of materials and supplies – coordinate with proper party to ensure staff are always well stocked

· Ensure adherence to quality standards and health/safety regulations

Qualifications

· Previous 5+ years’ experience in management role within manufacturing industry

· Excellent technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems

· Health and safety awareness and competencies

· Must have strong attention to detail and ability to determine if maintenance is required proactively

· Team leader and able to easily adapt to new initiatives set forward by the business

· Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written

· High school diploma

· Professional certification Millwright

· 309A Electrician License an asset

· Personal tools required in good condition
