Responsibilities:
-
Plan, coordinate, and manage daily production activities to meet customer orders, inventory targets, and delivery deadlines.
-
Monitor production flow and adjust staffing, equipment usage, or processes as needed.
-
Provide supervisor/support staff with strong leadership and career development.
-
Ensure all products meet company standards for quality, consistency, and presentation.
-
Oversee all plant personnel including bakers, operators, and packaging personnel.
-
Create staffing schedules and manage labour to align with production needs and budget.
-
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment with a strong focus on safety and performance.
-
Enforce food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures (HACCP, GMP, OSHA).
-
Conduct regular product, equipment, and facility inspections.
-
Partner with Quality Assurance teams to address defects, implement corrective actions, and maintain audit readiness.
-
Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows.
-
Implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices.
-
Lead root‑cause analysis for production issues and drive process enhancements.
-
Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and schedule repairs.
-
Manage ingredient and packaging inventory, support procurement by monitoring usage and forecasting needs.
-
Collaborate with supply chain, sales, and logistics teams to align production with demand.
-
Track key performance metrics (yield, waste, labour efficiency, downtime, output rates).

Qualifications
-
5+ years of experience in food production; commercial bakery experience strongly preferred.
-
Strong leadership skills with experience supervising hourly teams.
-
ERP/MRP System required.
-
Solid understanding of bakery processes (mixing, proofing, baking, cooling, packaging).
-
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
-
Ability to multitask and problem‑solve in a high‑volume environment.
-
Strong organizational, communication, and time‑management skills.
-
Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement principles.
-
Experience managing semi-automated bakery machinery or industrial production lines.
-
Experience running a 24-hour shift.

Millwright - Night Shift
Our industrial millwrights install, maintain, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in a commercial bakery. He/she will perform troubleshooting maintenance work for repair, adjustment, adaptation, re-design, preventative maintenance and installation of all plant equipment, machinery and infrastructure in order to assist in a safe and productive work environment for all employees in a bakery environment.

Responsibilities:

Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
-
Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
-
Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery.
-
Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
-
Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
-
Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
-
Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
-
Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools.
-
Perform preventive maintenance activities as assigned on all equipment and machines throughout the plant in conjunction with daily production requirements.
-
Fabricate parts and other equipment as per instructions or blueprint as required.
-
Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
-
Assist industrial electricians (when necessary) installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems in accordance with appropriate codes.

Work with variety of subcontractors
-
Recommending job improvements and alternative methods (problem solving)
-
Integral role in the Joint Health and Safety Committee
-
Ensure food safety remains high priority and is an ambassador for a food-safe culture
-
Other duties as required.

Qualifications
-
Industrial Millwright 433A License
-
2+ year of previous manufacturing experience required (preferably food manufacturing)
-
PLC competency required.
-
Able to diagnose mechanical and electrical problems and expedite repair
-
Ability to work in a team environment and problem solve
-
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-
Ability to carry out tasks on a timely basis
-
Shift work & flexibility required
